Oh, Chad.

CanWest News ServicePublished: Friday, June 30, 2006
VANCOUVER -- Police in Surrey, B.C., are recommending impaired driving charges against Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger.
On Thursday, RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Roger Morrow said Kroeger -- whose real name is Chad Turton -- was stopped by police on June 22 at 2 a.m.
Morrow said officers stopped Kroeger, 31, because of "excessive speed and erratic driving." He said police discovered potential evidence of impaired driving after they pulled over the vehicle.
"Because of various indicators the investigator initiated an impaired driving investigation," he said.
Morrow refused to give details of whether offi cers took Kroeger into custody or gave him a breathalyser test at the time of the stop.
Morrow said the matter is still under investigation and stressed charges have not yet been laid.

Friend

Got a surprise lift to work this morning from Jeremy Gladstone. He and I first met on the set of a Nickleback (!) video in about '98. Chad Kroeger was demanding that his profile not be photographed, and stubbornly refused all guitars the art department supplied. Jer (proudly and generously) offered up his own beautiful Sunburst Les Paul Custom, and went home to fetch it. After a day of furious and heartfelt rock-miming, pretend strumming, hair flicking, pained scowling, and silent singing (all with gargantuan conviction and resolve never before seen in performance pantomime) , Chad was overheard (by me) dismissing the axe as a "total piece of shit". 1998. Nickleback had barely even decided on their 'look' then... and they were acting like they were The bloody Alan Parsons Project.
Good to see you, Jer!
Another Gladstory... at The Horseshoe around the same time, Jer was drinking tea with honey before his set (as vocalist) with his funk & roll band Zygote. Says Tyler: "I used to do that whole 'drinking tea before the gig' deal... total bullshit."
Some wise words... Tyler's strict regimen of nachos and 5 double White Russians before each show set his own music career off to the heights at which it now resides:

Never Mind...

England won yesterday, so let's just forget everything I unleashed upon The Fine State Of (The) Carolina(s) in the wake of the Stanley Cup final. I'm over it.

Grease Ain't The Word.

'Carolina'. What?
Go back to Whoever's- It-Is-This-Month's Crab Shack And Crawdad Hut and whip together another round of flourescent Tequila/Gin/Hot sauce Eye-Crosser Hyper Syrup in plastic WWE mugs.
And those clown-painted lighthouses are fully gay.

And sorry, but the surf is crap.
